The trailer for David O. Russell’s new film American Hustle premiered last week on Good Morning America and all I thought while I watched this fantastic preview was (in my best Austin Powers voice), “YEAH, BABY.” As in every O. Russell film, the cast rocks. Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, and Jennifer Lawrence are just a handful of the awesomeness that fill the screen. It is set in the seventies which means Bale is rocking the shaggy hair and beard, Cooper is sporting the permed curls, and Adams and Lawrence are wearing the hell out of slinky form fitting dresses and pant suits with their girls on full display. The soundtrack will undoubtedly get you grooving. And all the characters seem to have their hands in shady deals, which always makes for good drama.
The movie reminds me of another movie that is set in the 70s, Boogie Nights. It is one of mine and my hubby’s favorites. I am hoping come December American Hustle will place itself next to Boogie Nights on my go to shelf. Here is the trailer:
Pay the overpriced ticket or park your butt on the couch and wait for the Blu-ray?: Do the Hustle all the way to the movie theater and pay the overpriced ticket!
Have a great week!
